The Cranston Herald is published by Beacon Communications, a locally owned company headquartered in Warwick, Rhode Island. In addition to the Cranston Herald, the company publishes the Warwick Beacon, produced twice weekly and serving Rhode Island's second largest city, and the Johnston Sun Rise. The company also publishes a weekly shopping guide, the Penny$aver, plus a business publication, ChamberWorks, which is mailed monthly to members of the Central Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce.
Beacon Communications also functions as a sales management company for two additional publishing operations: RING (Rhode Island Newspaper Group), an association of 19 community newspapers organized for the purpose of selling advertising to state-wide, regional and national advertisers; and Prime Time, a cutting edge publication that provides practical and useful information for people in the prime of their life.
