I don't get it. This developer was sued by the state of Rhode Island for millions of dollars..among a whole host of other financial issues and debacles. How can it be that the city of Cranston is entertaining letting these guys do business here? Would you hire someone to work on your house that has a lousy track record? The notion of "just put something there quick" is not in the best interest of anyone. These people are known for the bait and switch: show a luxury high rise, , sell it off, and then there's section 8. I don't know why people are so quick to say yes without looking fully into this. The truth of the matter is, if this is passed, there is nothing stopping them from pulling out and selling it off to someone else. I sure hope the council does its homework. I too have lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years and am already frustrated by the traffic. I travel by that stretch four times a day, and am almost always stuck. Can you imagine adding 200 more cars to that mess? Just because it doesn't affect every single person, doesn't mean there isn't a problem. I can only hope the council does not pass this. The city plan calls for a village development. Landowners: please look elsewhere to get this developed properly.
