2 ministers bring new enthusiasm to All Saints Church in Pontiac

With the recent arrival of two priests, Junior Warden at All Saints Episcopal Church, Bruce MacNeil, has seen a refreshed level of enthusiasm at the Pontiac church.

Father Alfred “Al” Zadig and Father George H. Warren have been called by the vestry to minister as the clergy of the parish.

“They’re excellent preachers and are very interested in growing the parish,” MacNeil said. “Good people people. They mix very well with the congregation and they always have a lot of enthusiasm.”

MacNeil said All Saints, with a membership of 110, has gained a couple people in the last year. MacNeil said he and the vestry would like Father Al and Father George to bring their own way of doing things to their church for it to grow.

“They’re in an organizing mode,” he said. “They have a different way of doing things. I already see now they’ve brought in holy water and incense.”

He added that they’re both excellent preachers but are also spiritual in addition to the religious teachings, which is a good addition.

Father Al was most recently the parish priest of a growing parish in the Diocese of Western Massachusetts, where he was assisted by Father George. He was a schoolteacher before going into the diocesan seminary in Garden City, Long Island and becoming an ordained priest. He was rector of a parish in Newton, Massachusetts. He has a master’s degree in pastoral care and psychology and a Ph.D. in psychology.

Father George was born and raised in Rumford, Rhode Island. After graduating from URI, he entered the Episcopal seminary in Philadelphia and received his M.D. degree in theology and pastoral ministry. He has served in parishes all across New England, including Saint Barnabas and Saint Mark’s Churches in Warwick.

The two have already made their mark in the Warwick community, according to MacNeil, as they’ve been making community contacts in the area and made relationships with members of the Church.
