Anton E. Langhammer, 90, died December 1, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (McGuirl) Langhammer, to whom he was married for 63 blissful years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Anton and Camilla (Boucher) Langhammer, he lived in Warwick since 1958. He was an account executive and audio/visual manager at William Dandreta Co. of Providence until his retirement in 1985. He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Toward the end of the war, he was involved in setting up and staffing a Signal Corps Training Center to train Philippine Army personnel. He was active in amateur radio and was a former secretary for the Providence Radio Association and a member of the American Radio Relay League. He was a life member of the Audio Engineering Society for five years and he volunteered as a news reporter for Insight Radio. He was past president of the War/EG/NK Catholic Regional School Board and served on the Catholic Diocesan School Board and served on the "Save Hendricken" Committee. He was a communicant of St. Benedict Church and was a lector and served on its Parish Council and School Board. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Finnegan Council. Anton was fond of saying, "It's been a great; life I have no regrets!" Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Peg Langhammer of Kingston; a son, Paul Langhammer and his wife, Tricia Leddy, of East Greenwich; and four beloved grandchildren, Katrina, Nolan, Mark and Mariana. He was predeceased by his sister, Louise Trainor. His funeral with military honors was held Dec. 4 from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict Church, Beach Ave. Donations in Anton's memory may be made to St. Elizabeth Home, One St. Elizabeth Way, East Greenwich, RI 02818 or Day One, 100 Medway St., Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
