Bellini Jewelers honored with national award

Back in 2013, Bellini Jewelers was honored with the prestigious Johnston Awards Program Blue-Ribbon Award.

The father-and-son tandem of Angelo and Michael Lauro – who have been part of Rhode Island’s jewelry fabric for nearly four decades – was honored for providing outstanding customer service.

Moreover, the family-owned and operated business – which was established in 1973 – was recognized for what was described as “dependable jewelry sales and repairs at down-to-earth-level prices.”

“Our jewelry store also received the highest rating awards by the Jewelers Board of Trade,” said Angelo, who founded the business. “We work hard through our comprehensive network of wholesale suppliers to give out customers the best possible prices.”

Two weeks ago, Bellini Jewelers landed in the national jewelry spotlight courtesy of City Beat News, which honored Angelo and Michael with The Spectrum Award for Excellence in Customer Service.

Todd Carey, awards coordinator for City Beat News, said The Spectrum Award is presented annually and based on independent research by CBN.

“We would like to extend our congratulations to you and your staff as the entire Bellini Jewelers team has achieved an award-wining five-star rating for 2016,” Carey wrote in his announcement letter. “Our fully staffed and highly-qualified ratings division spends thousands of hours scouring the internet to calculate business ratings. This is a very elite award with less than 10 percent of researched companies reaching award status.”

Corey also informed Bellini Jewelers that “the annual score is based on all available resources including consumer-review websites and blogs, social networks, business rating services and industry resources to determine the top consumer-rated businesses throughout the United States.”

Meanwhile, Bellini Jewelers business neighbor Pete Matteo – who owns and operates Bar 101 in the Atwood Center at 1478 Atwood Ave. – was thrilled when he heard that Angelo and Michael won the award.

“They’re great people and great neighbors,” Matteo said of the father-and-son team. “They’re also customers, but people we talk to say they’re down-to-earth and treat every customer as if they were family. They have earned a reputation for having a hidden gem of a jewelry store right here in Johnston.”
