Bernard Charles Brennan, Sr., 90, died February 6, 2017, under the care of Coventry Center and Genesis Hospice. He was the most loving husband for 63 years of the late Florence Marie (Paulette) Brennan, living in Warwick, most of their adult life.

He was born in Providence, RI on December 4, 1926 to Charles B. and Iola R. (Gronhagen) Brennan. Bernie was a World War II Navy Veteran, serving on the USS-ARG Culebra Island. He was a millwright, working for Oliver Barrette Millwrights for over 20 years. He was a Jack of All Trades/Handyman Extraordinaire. During his retirement in New Port Richey, FL, he rebuilt hundreds of bicycles at the Marine Corps League for Toys for Tots. He gave his all to the many organizations he belonged to during his life. He was presently a member of the Oakland Beach Volunteer Firemen’s Club.

Bernie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Anthony Napolitano; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Nancy Brennan; and son Earl Brennan. He is also survived by grandchildren Antonio (Julie), Joseph (Tiffanie), Amanda, Meghan (Jon), Kevin, and Casandra; and 11 great grandchildren.

His life will be celebrated in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 2-5pm. Burial in the RI Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, at a later date, will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oakland Beach Volunteer Firemen’s Club (O.B.V.F. Club), 645 Oakland Beach Ave, Warwick, RI 02889.
