Diabetes Support Group-April 4 at 10a.m. Pharmacist Mario Casinelli, facilitator. Diabetes is a serious disease that can lead to blindness, heart attack, kidney failure and amputations. It is the fourth leading cause of death by disease in the U.S. There is no cure, but there is hope. Peggy O'Neill, a dietitian and nutritionist will talk about carbs and why it is important to "Know Your Carbohydrates.”

RIPS Annual Stamp Show
There will be a stamp show March 24 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Kelley-Gazzero VFW Post, 1418 Plainfield Pike. This is Rhode Island’s largest annual postage stamp show and bourse. Free admission, framed exhibits, stamp dealers, door prizes, children's area. For information call 821-8658.
Blue Door Studio Exhibit
The Blue Door Studio will be exhibiting the artwork of Ronda Cilento, Michele D'Ambruoso and Claudia Venditto in an opening on March 25 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 1672 Cranston St. The exhibit, named Three Sisters, acknowledges the relationship of the three artists. Although the show will be an exhibit of original artwork and individual styles, the pieces displayed together will portray a common bond that the sisters share.
"TWO" High Energy Juggling
Chester Barrows School announces that the hottest juggling act in the country is coming to Rhode Island. Brothers Matthew and Jason Tardy of "TWO" High Energy Juggling will travel to Rhode Island to perform at Park View Middle School March 30 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6 p.m.). This show will be appropriate for all ages and help support Chester Barrows Elementary School. All are welcome, open to the public. Admission is $5, ages 3 and under free. Tickets will be sold at the door.
Grange Baking Contest
The Women's Activity Committee of the Rhode Island State Grange will be having a baking contest for Grange members on April 15 at the Oaklawn Grange Hall, 42 Wheelock Ave. This event will be held in conjunction with State Grange Degree Day. The contestants will be making carrot cake with frosting. There will be two categories: regular and sugar free, one cake per entry (pick a category). No mixes. The cakes will be dessert after dinner. Students to Run for Leukemia and Lymphoma
Four students from Cranston High School East have committed to running the Cox Rhode Races half-marathon on May 6 in Providence in an effort to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The society's mission is to "cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families." The students, Bihelca Quinonez, Alejandro Prada-Vaca, Teofilo Berroa, and Ricardo Figuera, are hoping members in their community will be willing to help with a contribution. If you would like to make
