CLCF 11U’s season came to an end at the 2015 New England Regional 11-year-old 50/70 Cal Ripken Baseball Tournament (July 31 – Aug. 6) at Beckwith Park in Dover, N.H.

Cranston was one of eight teams in the New England Regional Championship Tournament.

Teams representing New England states were: Dover, N.H.; Hudson, Mass.; Newtown, Conn.; Northampton, Mass.; Norwalk, Conn.; Raynham, Mass., and Swanzey, N.H.

CLCF ended up losing the first game, 6-4, to Dover, N.H. The Player of the Game for Cranston in the loss was Alex Marot. Cranston would bounce back, though, as it won the second game, 7-1, over Hudson, Mass. Evan Dacey earned the Player of the Game honor in the winning effort.

Cole Carbone earned the Player of the Game honor for Cranston in a loss in the third game, 4-0, to Swanzey, N.H.

The team did well in the skills competition at the opening day ceremonies, winning and placing first in the hitting contest and placing second in the around-the-horn competition.

In the end, the 2015 championship was won by Newtown, Conn.
