Now through Monday, November 14Save The Bay invites local artists and jewelers to submit works of art to be considered for the organization’s annual, juried Artists for the Bay Show and Sale, benefitting Save The Bay’s advocacy, education and restoration programs. Past shows have included works by Tom Deininger, Anthony Tomaselli, Ruth Clegg and Tom Martino, among many other talented local artists.

“The show is a great opportunity to exhibit to a new audience not only during the opening and closing receptions, but through the holiday season, as we host many guests at the Bay Center,” said Leanne Danielsen, Save The Bay’s events manager. “We welcome new and returning artists and jewelers who work in all mediums to submit their work. Our loyal following of supporters of the show are very receptive when we introduce and highlight many different artists in the community.”

Artists may submit up to eight pieces, including paintings, photography, wall sculpture, pottery and jewelry, depicting any subject. Paintings and photography should be framed and ready to hang, up to 18” x 18.” Sculpture should be suitable for pillar display. Save The Bay welcomes art of any price, up to $500. Submissions can be made electronically or by mail.

Generously sponsored by StoneRidge Senior Living as part of a year-long partnership with Save The Bay, the Artists for the Bay Show and Sale Opening Reception will take place on Thursday, Dec. 1 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Save The Bay’s Bay Center in Providence. The show is open to the public and runs through Jan. 31 with a closing ceremony held on Thursday, Jan. 28 from 1-3 p.m. While the artwork is on display, community members can come to the Save The Bay Center to look at and purchase artwork during normal business hours or by appointment. Fifty percent of all art sales will benefit Save The Bay.

“Art and the environment are two issues that are important to residents of StoneRidge. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor this exhibit and ongoing education, restoration, preservation and advocacy efforts of Save The Bay throughout this year,” said StoneRidge Senior Living Executive Director Richard Kisner.

Tickets for the opening reception are $35 and include local food, beer, wine, live music and desserts, all-inclusive. Guests will find a wide range of artwork in the gallery ranging from elegant seascapes to whimsical mixed-media pieces.
