A MEXICAN HAT: Junior Jenna Testone, from the Brownie/Junior Troop 156, shows off her Mexican sombrero as part of her troop's presentation on Mexico.

The Cranston Girl Scout Troops from Daisies to Seniors participated in World Thinking Day Friday night, an evening of food, fun and learning about the world, as each troop takes on a country of their choosing, and brings a food item, an activity and a presentation showing what they've learned about that country. This year's theme in Cranston was "Oodles of Noodles," with many of the food items lending themselves well to that theme.

Organizer Nancy Gillheeney was pleased with the effort and creativity that went into each group's presentations.

"All the troops did such a wonderful job representing their countries. The cheerful skit, three native dances, the creative backboards [and] displays and the informative presentations made for a fun-filled evening," she said.

Countries represented included Iceland, Thailand, Mexico, Italy, France, Wales and Trinidad.
