Cranston Western LL brings back fall ball tournament

Cranston Western Little League staged the Little Rhody Fall Ball Tournament earlier this month in honor of its founder, Mike Varrato, the league’s late president. Varrato had run the tournament for years before his death earlier this year. Eight teams participated in the tournament. Silver Lake Little League beat Cranston Western 3-1 to win the tournament championship. Pictured is a game held on Oct. 12 at Varrato Field.
