To the Editor:
There is more to being a legislator than most candidates know and that many state senators and representatives have ignored and forgotten.
They have an oath and vows that they swear to and commit themselves to the taxpayers of Warwick, the State of Rhode Island and the United States of America.
“Oath of General Office – Section 3” You Will “Faithfully and Impartially” Discharge all the Duties of Your Office, SO HELP YOU GOD!” Upon the Peril of Penalty of Perjury.
“Ethics Conduct – Section 7” Respect the Public Trust and the Rights of all Persons, be Open, Accountable and Responsive, Avoid the Appearance of Impropriety and Not Use Their Position for Private Gain or Advantage.
They shall “hold their position” during good behavior!
Voters must ask themselves, does my state senator and state representative honor their oath of office and ethical conduct?
Only those legislators serving honorably have the right to hold their office.
At this time, I, Ron Loparto, of Warwick, demand the resignation of State Senator Michael McCaffrey for failure of his oath of office and ethical conduct and behavior against his constituency.
Taxpayers throughout Rhode Island must take a closer look at their own state senator and state representative in the upcoming election.
Ron Loparto
Independent State
Senate Candidate
District 29-Warwick
