Edgewood Eagles cheerleaders go to the dogs
ALL READY: The Edgewood Eagle Cheerleaders were out to volunteer for the Great Danes Around New England Rescue for a free car wash with donations for the Rescue being accepted. Also on hand to help wash cars were members of the Rescue group.

The Edgewood Eagles cheerleaders, as part of their “Giving Back” program, held a free car wash this recently in front of Cranston High School East; requesting any donation for the Great Danes Around New England Rescue. The Rescue assists owners with medical needs, food and care for the “gentle giants.”

This was the second consecutive year that the cheerleaders have held this event. They are a Pop Warner Little Scholars Football and Cheerleading Program and range from the ages of 5 to 15 years old.

Last year, the Rescue found homes for 58 Great Danes and are already close to that number this year; just halfway through the year. Some reasons for the relocation of the dogs are due to financial, change of life situations and some are just simply abandoned.
