Five Johnston Panthers were selected to the Blackstone Valley Youth Football Conference All-Star team. They are: Tom Comella #5, Tim Isom #88, Jake Picard #42, Nic Comella #28 & Lee Ray #60. They will be traveling to Kissimmee, Fla., next month to compete with the best eighth-graders through the country. This 16-team tournament will crown a National Champion from American Youth Football. The team is made up of 32 kids that are the best youth football players from Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts. Johnston had the most players from any organization represented. The team will be coached by Johnston Panthers’ President Jason Wright and has many coaches from other organizations as well.
“This will be an experience of a lifetime for these boys,” said Wright.
