For the first time all season, the Gershkoff Auto Body – Auburn Post 20 American Legion team has hit a rough patch, and it’s happening at a tough team.
With the season coming to a close, Gershkoff has lost its last six games. It has fallen from second place to a tie for sixth place in the state with a 10-10 record.
The top eight teams make the playoffs.
The skid started not long after Gershkoff returned from an extended trip to New York last Thursday. It came home and beat New England Frozen Lemonade/Shields Post 43 7-6, but then dropped a second game later in the day, two the next day, one on Saturday and two more Monday.
Gershkoff was scheduled to close out the regular season Tuesday with a doubleheader against South Kingstown Post 39, with results unavailable at press time. It is guaranteed a playoff spot regardless of the outcome of those games.
