Harriet C. (Carlson) Forster, 93, died Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Scandinavian Home in Cranston. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry E. Forster to whom at the time of his death on November 6, 2003 she had been married 57 years.

Born in Cranston, a daughter of the late Edwin and Evelyn (Swanson) Carlson, she graduated from Cranston High School, Class of 1941, and moved to Warwick in 1951. For nine years she worked as a bookkeeper employed by the former Narragansett Brewing Company before retiring in 1950. Harriet had a beautiful voice and sang as a Soprano Soloist at the First Universalist Church in Providence and at Beneficent Congregation Church in Providence. During World War II she performed at local camp shows for servicemen and also sang at bond rallies. She performed as a soloist also at concerts in Roger Williams Park, Providence and for many Masonic affairs. She was a member and former deacon of Spring Green Memorial Church, Warwick.

She is survived by her daughter Linda S. Forster and her sons, Donald C. and Robert S. Forster all of Warwick. She was predeceased by her sister, Constance McCrady.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Avenue, West Warwick. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery, Warwick.
