James F. Evans, 74, of Glendale, AZ passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in Phoenix, AZ after a 6 month illness. He was the beloved husband of Pratoon “Upin” Evans.
Jim was born on Dec. 3, 1941, son of the late John and Irene (Flynn) Evans. Jim moved from Warwick in 1978 and settled in Phoenix Arizona. He was a programmer & systems analyst at Blue Cross of RI and Arizona for several years before working as an independent consultant. He coached Little League in Cranston for many years. Red Sox baseball and golf were his passions.
He was the father of Barry and Christopher Evans as well as the late Mindy and Karen Evans who both died in infancy. He was the brother of John (FL), Robert (CA), Joseph (FL/RI) and the late William Evans.
There will be a private Celebration of his Life in Arizona. A month mind mass will be celebrated on June 11, 2016 at 9 am at St. Thomas More Church in Narragansett, RI followed by a gathering at his brother Joe's home.
