State Rep. Robert Lancia is bringing his monthly “Coffee with Constituents” event to Roger Williams Park on April 30 in support of the Children’s Friend 5K Walk & Run and its sponsor, Panera Bread.

The 5K kicks off at 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 9 a.m. Entertainment and activities for children will be held until 12:30 p.m. Panera Bread will provide free breakfast and lunch.

There is no cost to participate in the event or the walk, although there is a $25 entrance fee for runners. All proceeds will benefit programs and services at Children’s Friend, which provides advocacy and support for vulnerable youths in the state.

Lancia said the special “Coffee with Constituents” activity is meant to support both a worthy community cause and Panera, which has hosted the monthly gatherings at its Chapel View location.

“They’ve been so supportive of me,” he said

For more information or to register for the 5K, visit childrensfriendwalk.org or call 401-276-4300. The event will be held rain or shine.
