Eyesite RI, a provider of specialized eye care services in Cranston, recently offered free comprehensive eye exams to students in need at Arlington Elementary School as part of the Essilor Vision Foundation Adopt-A-School program.

In partnership with Essilor Vision Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Dallas-based optical lens manufacturer Essilor of America, Eye Site RI’s Dr. Maria Florio Jablonski provided eye exams to 15 children and fitted 13 children for eye glasses in their prescription at no cost to the family.

“We are honored to participate in the Adopt-A-School program to help young students in our community who are in need of vision care,” said Fran Lynch, senior sales consultant for Essilor of America. “Proper vision care can have a significant impact on the lives of our children, and we know that poor vision puts academic success at risk.”

“By partnering with Essilor Vision Foundation, we were able to give corrective glasses to children who didn’t even know they needed them,” said Linda Carpentier, licensed optician for Eye Site RI.

Essilor Vision Foundation strives to eliminate poor vision and its lifelong consequences on a local and global scale by providing free vision screenings, eye exams and eyeglasses to children who would not get them otherwise. The foundation also works to educate parents and communities about the importance of children’s vision care and the role it plays in literacy, society and the economy.
