Nathaniel "Bobby" Robertson Jr., 59, of Cranston, passed away January 19, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara L. Burrows and the former husband of Debra Lee Amaral.
He was the youngest son of the late Marie (Metts) and Nathaniel Robertson Sr. Nate had served in the United States Marine Corps for nine years, including some service time in Vietnam. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service in the Providence Turnkey Office for 25 years before retiring.
He was a member of the APWU, where he served as a steward for two years. He was also a member of BASS, the National Fishing Association, The NRA, The National Hunting Association, Winchek Gun Club, Massasiot Gun Club and was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed those hobbies with his family and friends. He had also played in the Nate Robertson Orchestra for many years.
Besides his wife he is survived by a son, Shawn N. Robertson of Eustis, Fla.; a daughter, Corinne Robertson of East Providence; two granddaughters; two sisters, Lorraine Byas of Detroit, Mich. and Carol Davis of Bristol; and three nieces. He was the brother of the late Darryl K. Robertson.
Family and friends paid their final respects Jan. 24 in The Butterfield Chapel, 500 Pontiac Ave., Cranston. Burial with military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
