The nationally-ranked La Salle boys’ cross country competed at the Nike Team Cross Country Nationals on Saturday at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland, Oreg. and were once again led by Cranston native D.J. Principe.
Principe, a sophomore who won the Rhode Island state championship last month, finished in 75th place in the nation, leading La Salle to an 18th-place finish.
He completed the course in 16:20.
The La Salle girls’ team also competed and took ninth place overall, with Sheridan Wilbur crossing the finish line first in 28th. South Kingstown freshman Ellie Lawler took 33rd.
