Hugh B. Bain Middle School continued a longstanding tradition on May 22 with its annual Memorial Day observance. Students, teachers, families, community members and local officials and dignitaries took part in the ceremony, which was held outside the school. At bottom left, the Bain Band performed both the school song and “You’re A Grand Old Flag.” The Bain Orchestra, not photographed, performed “Ode To Joy” and “We Shall Overcome.” At bottom right, members of the Bain Choir are seen. They sang four songs – “The Star Spangled Banner,” the school song, “America” by Lee Greenwood and “There She Stands.” Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
