Pumpkin Patch feeds area families

LEARNING AND DOING: Cheryl Martin used the Food Drive as a method to teach the children to count up to 100 by increments of five and 10. Each day the children would bring cans to school and place them outside of the classroom door. Gathering around the day’s donation, they were led in a counting exercise to determine the new can total. Martin then added the new total to the goal display so that the children could see the progress made.

These pre-schoolers gave students around Cranston a run for their money on holiday food drives.
