On Tuesday, February 7, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island honored several local organizations at its 2017 BlueAngel Community Health Grants Event. Grants were awarded to Rhode Island nonprofit organizations combating the critical issue of childhood obesity. Girls on the Run RI, a running-based youth development program for girls ages 8-13, received $27,000 to expand their programming to more Title I sites in lower-income neighborhoods.
