Shayna Cousineau is the 2015-16 Cranston girls’ cross country athlete of the year after a fall season in which she claimed 39th at the state meet with a time of 21 minutes, 5.7 seconds.
The Cranston East junior jumped up to 39th after earning an 87th-place finish as a sophomore in 2014.
Cousineau, who was also a member of the East Final Four girls’ basketball team, will have the opportunity to place even higher when she returns for her senior season this coming fall.
