The St. Mary’s Civita Hall on Phenix Avenue was packed on the evening of March 21 for a Fashion Show to benefit the St. Mary’s Feast Society Ladies Auxiliary – and, in turn, the St. Mary’s Feast held each summer in Knightsville. Organized by the group’s president, Maria Manzi, and member Gail Hogan, the event drew roughly 75 people and raised approximately $2,000. Attendees enjoyed a buffet, raffles, vendor tables, a DJ and the show. For many of the models, it was the first time they walked the runway. For the older girls, it was the offerings of Sonya’s Clothing, located in Cranston, that they showcased, and for the younger girls it was clothing from Lori’s Little Ones, also located in Cranston in Joe’s Place. The hall was busy as people milled about buying raffle tickets and visiting vendors, all in anticipation for the fashion show, which was coordinated with the help of Pat Paolino Cruz – a well-known Rhode Island fixture for her production of a variety of expos held throughout the year – and Anna Maria Angelosanto. Pictured above are all of the adult models at the conclusion of their segment in Fashion Show. (Herald photos by Steve Popiel/Text by Meri R. Kennedy)
