Combining a persuasive writing project with Earth Day was the challenge that Michelle Theroux presented to her students, and they took it on with creativity and enthusiasm.
“They had to bring in all recyclable materials and create anything they wanted with it, either in groups or alone, and then write a five-paragraph persuasive essay to present to the class,” Theroux said. “They did such a great job. We also participated in a separate essay contest about why it’s important to keep the Earth safe.”
The students this week presented both their projects and their essays to their peers, as well as to Stadium Principal Cheri Sacco.
“They were so excited about this project,” Sacco said.
