To the Editor:
Once again, the Democrat-dominated Rhode Island Senate has let taxpayers, professionals and small business owners of R.I. down. We are already ranked as the worst place to do business in the United States, have one of the highest unemployment rates and have one of the highest tax burdens in the country.
Here is the Democrat Party's solution to this dilemma:
If you have to take a cab to the airport and train station to go to work because you cannot find a professional job in Rhode Island, TAX ME. If you have a job in an office and you have to buy a suit that costs $400 to go to work, TAX ME. If you have to do business in Newport, TAX ME. If you love your pet, TAX ME. If a businessperson comes to town and rents a car, TAX THEM.
IT IS TIME TO STOP THE MADNESS. And to top it off, if you are a small business owner that can barely make payroll, they increased the minimum wage so you lay off more workers or not hire new people. Never mind that it’s used as a multiple in various labor contract wage agreements and costs will grow exponentially. Just say no on Nov. 6.
