Cranston’s Lynne Collinson starred in Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers at City Nights Dinner Theatre in Pawtucket.

Michael Collins, the tale of the Irish revolutionary, starred Liam Neeson. The popular stage play, “To Gillian on her 37th Birthday,” was brought to the screen starring Peter Gallagher, Kathy Baker and Claire Danes. Star Trek: First Contact was the new generation’s time, with Patrick Stewart playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard.

Betty Nolan and Dennis Bouchard of Cranston starred in Academy Player’s “Babes in Arms.”

The Odeum had Ocean State Follies, the National Shakespeare Company, and jazz pianist Dave McKenna, plus an Extravaganza of Bluegrass and Folk Music during the month of November.

A to Z Productions brought Broadway stars to Rhodes on the Pawtuxet for an array of Broadway tunes.

The Radisson Airport Hotel had Breakfast with the Pilgrims, a complete buffet, for $6.95 adults and $4.95 children. Harbourside Lobstermania in Greenwich Cove had turkey dinner with all the trimmings for $9.95, $6.95 for children. Chelo’s Waterfront Bar and Grill had an all you can eat Sunday chicken family style for $6.95, $4.95 for children. Remember Bobby’s Europa Family Restaurant on Airport Road? They had fish and chips for $5.50.

Lon Cerel wrote a book titled How to Blow Up Animals: A Beginner’s Guide to Fun With Balloons. The local comedian, now performing his mentalist shows around the state, is in the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest balloon animal maker in the world.”

“42nd Street” was at PPAC. Francisco Noya led the Rhode Island Philharmonic in a concert titled “Celebrate Christmas Around the World” at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Alias State (now Gamm) presented Everyman, a morality play whose author is unknown, starring Christopher Byrnes and Kate Lohman, with Cranston’s Hope Pilkington playing the Five Senses.
