A new place for kids

Mayor Allan Fung held an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 14, welcoming Little Learners Academy of Cranston, located at 950 Phenix Ave., to the community. For more than 25 years, the founders of Little Learners, Charlene Barbieri and Kendra Tanguay, have been impacting the lives of children by developing and implementing a warm, nurturing and supportive environment as they embrace families, similarities and differences, according to them. Little Learners Academy of Cranston is a place where children are individual members of a class and community, the owners said. They offer rich academics in a play-based center which emphasizes interdisciplinary project-based learning, building social skills such as communication and critical thinking, and tailoring instruction to the needs of each individual student.
