Alfred C. Sebastian Jr., 67, of Ledyard, CT died unexpectedly, Sunday, December 30, 2018. He was the loving husband of Rita (Kramer) Sebastian of 43 years.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Alfred C. Sebastian and Alice (Rose) Sebastian and lived in Ledyard for 27 years. Prior to residing in Ledyard, he was a resident of Warwick, RI. Al was a Water Treatment Plant Technician for The Mashantucket Water Treatment Plant retiring in 2006. Prior to working at the water plant, he was employed with Sealol in Warwick and Central Tool in Cranston, RI. An avid car enthusiast, he also enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Al was a Tribal Elder of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe. He will be remembered as a gentle giant, fondly known as “Big Al” he was loved by many for his generosity and gentle spirit.

In addition to his wife Rita, he leaves his three children: Renee Guerra and Melinda Sebastian, both of Ledyard and Jeremey Sebastian, of Norwich; his six siblings: Debra Jones of Stonington, Julian Royster of West Warwick, Barbara Walmsley, of Providence, Shirley Jeffreys of Warwick, Roberta Royster of Warwick and June Weeden, of Newport, his five grandchildren: River Rose, Layla Sebastian, Dylan Gorman, and Brandon and Ava Guerra; and many cousins, including his close cousin, Kenneth Reels. He was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald Royster and Robert Sebastian.

His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 5th from 11-1 at the Mystic Funeral Home. The funeral home is located on Route 1 in Mystic. (GPS directions for the funeral home: 51 Williams Ave. Mystic). Immediately following the calling hours at 1:00 pm, family and friends will share memories and thoughts of Al at the funeral home. His burial will be private.
