Lifestyle coach Gina Clapprood had found common threads among many of the women with whom she has worked.

They were constantly sacrificing their own happiness for the benefit of others, she said. They felt unworthy, and as a result, their happiness was essentially non-existent.

Those experiences informed her first book, “You Can be a SELFish B,” and Clapprood said she has been humbled by the number of women who connected with her work.

On March 16, she appeared at Barrington Books Retold in Garden City Center following the release of her second book, “The Queen B.” It a collection of stories written by 32 women she has encountered – most from Rhode Island – about their experiences.

“This book is relatable with its fearless humor and raw honesty,” Clapprood said. “It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, and it will leave you feeling inspired. These women get real on how to give yourself grace as you navigate through life's struggles without giving up – and keeping your eye on the comeback.”

“The Queen B” was released Feb. 4. It reached the top of Amazon’s best-seller list in the “Self-Help/Personal Transformation” category on Feb. 13.

“The Queen B exemplifies how to live your life with passion and remain true to yourself. You deserve to be the happy, confident woman you were meant to be … You deserve to be The Queen B,” Clapprood said.

“The Queen B” is available on Amazon and at Barrington Books Retold and Stillwater Books.
