Brendan Bolliger Hayward, 40, of Los Angeles, CA, took his own life on February 23, 2018 after a long struggle with drug addiction.

Born on March 12, 1977 in Rhode Island, Brendan graduated from Cranston HS East, the University of Virginia, and the USC Peter Stark Producing Program in Los Angeles. Brendan worked as a professional SAT tutor and filmmaker for 14 years. He produced numerous commercials, one of which aired during the Super Bowl in 2011. He also produced a film featured at the Tribeca Film Festival in NYC. He had an outsized impact on many students lives, especially those at the Harvard Westlake School in Los Angeles, where he helped them achieve college admission after SAT and ACT tutoring. Though he had no children, he loved to get down on the floor with his niece and nephew, lowering his 6'4" body to their level. He was a talented athlete and famous for his muscles. "Uncle B" was charmed by his 6-year-old niece Elizabeth. His love of clothes (and shoes!) will live on with his nephew, Alexander, who will have to grow to fill his uncle's size 12s.

His memory will live on with his parents John and Arlene; brothers Laurent of San Diego, CA and Adrian of Seattle, WA; sister Eva Kean of Boise, ID; niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Alexander Hayward; and sister-in-law, Mary Hayward, all of San Diego, CA. He was predeceased by his beloved cats, Ozzy and Little Richard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Brendan's name may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America at www.bbbs.org. An online memorial may be viewed at www.poulsbomortuary.com
