The Community College of Rhode Island is hosting its Fall 2021 Open House on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at the Knight Campus’ Great Hall.

The event runs from 2-6 p.m. and allows graduating high-school seniors the opportunity to apply for the Rhode Island Promise program on site, meet advisors and learn more about the college’s scholarship programs, financial aid options, degree and certificate programs and transfer agreements.

Students graduating from high school this spring are eligible to enroll as Rhode Island Promise scholars for the fall 2021 semester. The Promise program offers two years of free college tuition to 2020 high school graduates or GED recipients younger than 19 years old. Students who qualify must enroll full time, earn 30 credits per year and maintain specific grade point average guidelines to remain eligible.

The February Open House is also an opportunity for students to begin applying for their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and learn more about the college’s Joint Admissions Agreement (JAA) transfer program with Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island.

CCRI is at the forefront of improving the ways community college students are prepared to advance their education and career prospects. Last May, the college achieved its highest two- and three-year graduation rates in more than 20 years and awarded more credentials than ever before. The college expects to have the highest three-year graduation rate of any community college in New England by 2021.
