Help Support CCAP's Food Bank this Summer

Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP) could use your help by holding a hold a food drive for them in your neighborhood, at your business, school, church, club or organization, or with your friends. Each month CCAP serves over 600 families and last year they provided over 150,000 meals to families in need through their Food Bank. The families they serve have lost their jobs, suffered an illness, or a different type of crisis; usually through no fault of their own. They are having trouble making ends meet and are unable to purchase needed food.

Food drives are a great way for you to personally provide the healthy and nourishing foods that you want for our hungry neighbors and their families. There's no season for hunger, so you can have a food drive at any time of the year and make a real difference in our community. They need and appreciate your support, and CCAP's Food Gatherers will help to make it easy for you, and effective for the people they serve.

Your support of CCAP is deeply appreciated, 100 percent of all donations through our CCAP Food Drives go directly to the families we support.

For more information about CCAP and how you can “lend a helping hand” go to our website, www.ComCap.org or contact Joanne Gregory, Vice President of Social Services at 562-8333.

Drug Interactions will be presented by the URI Pharmacy Outreach Pharm D Program will be held on June 28 at 10 a.m. More than half of all adults in America take 2 or more medications per day and those over 65 years old average 4 or more every day.  Then there are the over-the-counter drugs and herbals.  Add to that the number of foods and beverages that interact with medications.  All can significantly increase the risk of a drug interaction.  It is important to know how to avoid these potentially dangerous interactions.
