CCAP in need of help for the holidays
Each month CCAP serves over 600 families in need at their Food Bank, and they are seeing more and more families having trouble making ends meet and are unable to purchase needed food. The families we serve have lost their jobs, suffered an illness or a different type of crisis, usually through no fault of their own.
Providing extra food for the holidays is an even bigger burden for families that need help. CCAP’s goal is to provide 1000 Baskets for the Holidays. We would like to ask you to join them in "lending a helping hand during the holidays" by hosting a CCAP food drive in your church, work place, service group, school or community.
Frozen turkey, canned corn, canned green beans, canned yams, boxed mashed potatoes, boxed stuffing, canned turkey gravy, canned cranberry sauce, pie crust, canned pie filling, rolls, or $25 grocery gift cards.
Please join us this year to help collect food for our Holiday Food Baskets, or you can make a cash donation of $35 for a competed meal basket. Checks can be made out to CCAP's Holiday Food Drive, 311 Doric Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
All food and donations are due by Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 during business hours 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., 311 Doric Avenue, Cranston, RI 02920 (lower level). We can also arrange pick-up. For more information, contact Joanne Gregory, Vice President of Social Services at 562-8333.

Did You Know?
Halloween is one of the oldest celebrations in the world, dating back over 2,000 years to the time of the Celts who lived in Britain.
Trick or treating comes from the Middle Ages practice of the poor dressing up in costumes and going around door to door during Hallowmas begging for food or money in exchange for prayers. The food given was often a Soul Cake, which was a small round cake that represented a soul being freed from Purgatory when the cake was eaten. (Source: Halloween Fun Facts)
