On Saturday, June 10, the students and staff from the Western Hills Middle School National Junior Honor Society gathered for their first major fundraiser, a car wash which was held on the grounds of the school. With steady traffic making its way through for several hours, the students spent their morning washing car after car accepting donations in any amount for their work. The proceeds would benefit their upcoming service project, Goodnight Cranston, which provides bags filled with blankets, stuffed animals and other goodies for children in need. At the conclusion of the car wash, a record of nearly $700 had been raised. (Text and photos by Jen Cowart)
