Silver Alert issued for local man Cranston Police on Tuesday issued a Silver Alert for an 86-year-old local man that is missing and believed to be in danger.

Quentin Turtle is described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds, with gray, balding hair and brown eyes. He was last seen in the area of Garden Hills Drive in Cranston, wearing blue jeans, a tan jacket, white sneakers and a navy University of Rhode Island hat.

Police believe Turtle's possible destinations include the URI campuses in Providence or Kingston and a residence on Ellis Street in Barrington. His vehicle is a blue 2003 Buick La Sabre bearing Rhode Island veteran registration 7517.

Anyone with information regarding Turtle's whereabouts is asked to contact Cranston Police at 942-2211. Police: Man used pepper spray on employee during Dollar General incident Police are seeking the community's help in identifying a man who used pepper spray on a store clerk during a recent robbery.

According to a Cranston Police, the suspect entered the Dollar General store on Broad Street at approximately 8 p.m. on Feb. 23. The man began to fill a clear plastic bag with merchandise before exiting the store without making any attempt to pay.

As the man was leaving, an 18-year-old employee attempted to stop him. The suspect is said to have sprayed the employee in the face with pepper spray before fleeing the scene.

Break-in suspect seen on home security video A break-in suspect captured on a home video security system is being sought by Cranston Police.

The owners of a Smith Street residence in Edgewood reported receiving an alert about movement in their home at approximately 4 p.m. on Feb. 25, according a press release. The homeowners checked the video from the system, which showed the intruder taking several items before fleeing the scene prior to the arrival of police.
