Edgewood Yacht Club Open House
The Edgewood Yacht Club, 1 Shaw Ave., will be holding an Open House on March 11 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Gather your friends and neighbors and join in for a celebratory sneak peek at the long awaited new Yacht Club. This state of the art building features a clubhouse, special event facilities and is home to the Edgewood Sailing School.
Hippity Hoppity! Here comes Peter Cottontail hoppin’ down the bunny trail to Garden City Center for his annual visit in the weeks leading up to the Easter holiday. Shoppers will find the fluffy bunny located at the magical Bunny cabin next to the gazebo in front of J Crew and Pottery Barn daily for visits and pictures from March 9 through March 31.
Visits are free, and professional pictures are available for purchase on a first come first serve basis.

Cranston High School East will be holding their Bolts Bazaar on March 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the school gymnasium.
The event is free to enter, and they are welcoming guests of all ages. The event will have over 50 local vendors and crafters (list of vendors on their Facebook Event Page: Bolts Bazaar) and will even feature the Easter Bunny!
At the Bolt’s Bazaar, they will have children's activities, face painting, henna, raffles and more! All the proceeds are going to the school to help aid students and families who may not be financially able to pay for extra activities such as dances and proms.
During the month of March, with a scheduled appointment, residents can have bulky waste items picked up curb side on their regular trash day.
To schedule an appointment with Waste Management, residents must call Waste Management at 1-800-972-4545 to schedule a free bulky waste pickup. Phone calls for the program are being taken now for pickup starting on March 1.
Pickups are limited to one scheduled trip with 3 items per residential unit.
Bulky waste does not include mattresses, construction debris, televisions or electronic goods, white goods or any household trash/garbage bags that would not fit into the City provided 65-gallon care of overflow bags.

Hosted by Irish Ceilidhe Club of Rhode Island on March 17 at 10 a.m., the Club will host St. Patrick’s Day with a Mass, Flag Raising, Step Dancing, Corn Beef sandwiches or hot dogs and raffles.

Asbury United Methodist Church, located on 550 Fair St. in Warwick, will be holding an Italian dinner and silent auction on Saturday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. The dinner will be catered by Rigatoni’s Italian Restaurant (gluten-free available) and the auction will feature gift certificates for goods, meals, services, and household/gardening items. There will also be a book autographed by Tony Bennett up for auction. Tickets for the event are $15 for adults and $7 for children under eight years old. All proceeds will go back to the church. On March 11, Pet Supplies “Plus” in Garden City in Cranston will hold their annual Easter Bunny Pet & Family Photos from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All photography services are donated by Gene Hutnak Photography. Proceeds will benefit Animal Depend On People, Too (A.D.O.P.T.).
Pets, children and adults may have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny and a $20 donation to A.D.O.P.T. will provide you with two different photos that can be reproduced.
Come enjoy the sights and sounds of over 20 indoor percussion & color guard groups! Cranston High School East is proud to play host for the 3rd straight year to a New England Scholastic Band Association (NESBA) competition.
The event will be held in the gym at Cranston High School East on March 10.
Adult Admission: $10; Seniors/Students: $8 and there is no admission charged for children under the age of 5. Doors open at 3 p.m.; Percussion groups start at 4 p.m. and; Color Guard groups start at 6 p.m.
There will be raffles, 50/50 and a full concession stand available.

Topics covered during this six-session workshop include: dealing with frustration; pain & fatigue; medication & nutrition; exercise for improving strength, flexibility & endurance; evaluating new medications and more. The New Hope Art Gallery Spring Show opening is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. The show will feature 400 pieces of art in every style and media from 100 local, national, senior, special needs and student artists.
The will feature vender tables of small original art items all at affordable prices from many of our artists. Also featured will be wonderful music from Jim Chapin, Mark Greenwood, Robert Rizzo and friends. Artist Jack Lai will be creating free portraits for guests.
Come join in for a great night of beautiful art, great music and good food. The gallery is located at the Michael A. Trafficante Enrichment Center (Senior Center) at 1070 Cranston St. This show will run for 3 months until early July. Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
West Bay Chorale Spring Fundraiser – West Bay Café – will be held on March 16 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at the Edgewood Congregational Church, 1788 Broad Street, Cranston. It will feature acclaimed Irish trio Kindred and other local talent. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through one of our chorale members, on our website or at the door. Cranston Public Library is welcoming the spring season with the return of its annual Spring Concert Series at the William Hall Library. The series will run on selected Saturdays from March-May and will feature local musicians. Concert performances will take place in the William Hall Library Auditorium on March 24, April 7 and May 12 from 2 to 3 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
On March 24, Atwater-Donnelly (American Traditional & Celtic Music) will perform. Based in Warren, RI, they have traveled extensively for 30 years to perform, and this highly praised husband-wife duo blends gorgeous vocals with an astounding array of instruments including the mountain dulcimer, old-time banjo, tin whistle, guitar, mandolin, harmonica and more.
On April 7, Hungrytown (Folk Music) will perform. Rebecca Hall & Ken Anderson, a Vermont folk duo has earned a reputation for the quality and authenticity of their songwriting. Their introduction to folk music came when a close friend who died young entrusted to them her collection of 1960s folk albums and her guitar. Inspired by the grit and true-to-life experiences she heard in these traditional ballads, Hall was inspired to write the lyrics that later became her first songs, aided by Anderson's flair for musical arrangement.
On May 12, La Bella Musica (Classical String Music) will perform. Emily Chen & Morgan Santos were in middle school together and La Bella Musica has become one of the most sought-after string ensembles for weddings, concerts and other special occasions. Alongside the traditional classical repertoire, La Bella Musica is well known for their large and extremely diverse non-classical repertoire including jazz, oldies, movie themes and today's pop and rock tunes.
