A Cranston man has claimed a $75,000 five-dollar “baseball” instant ticket top prize that he bought at A & B Mart on Pontiac Avenue.
The man did not want any publicity and therefore couldn’t be reached about his winnings, but Jocelyn Canario, a spokesperson from the Rhode Island Lottery, said that the man believes the ticket was in his car for about a year before he found it and brought it to a store to check if he won anything.
The store attendant told him to go to lottery headquarters, where he learned he had won $75,000 on a ticket he forgot to check. She said he plans on checking off his bucket list with the winnings, starting with a trip to Aruba.
