On April 21, a sold-out crowd turned out to support the Pink Heals RI Chapter at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick to raise funds for the Pink Heals’ continued work in supporting women with cancer throughout the state. The Pink Heals Chapter is comprised of firefighters and police officers.
This was their 7th consecutive sold out ball, first led by the Color Guard, representing five different fire departments throughout the state followed by the RI Pipes & Drums made up of professional firefighters.
Guests were able to participate in a blitz raffle, which raised $4,000 in 10 minutes. During the raffle, guests could buy as many gift boxes as they wished at $20 per box (all 200 boxes were sold) and the grand prize was a hand-built liquor cabinet made by East Greenwich Firefighter Scott Beaudreau and friends. It was won by Cassandra Benoit of Warwick. The other boxes included smaller items, like a crystal, or cash.
The evening was full of dinner, music, raffles and dancing, a photo booth, photograph section for formal photos and silent auctions for sports memorabilia and jewelry.
Next year’s Pink Heals RI Chapter will be held on May 4, 2019.
