Yushin America, the U.S. headquarters of the Japanese robotics automation company, is offering group tours for Manufacturing Day on Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Manufacturing Day is a national grassroots event created by manufacturers to address common misperceptions about industry. The goal of this fourth annual event is to address the skilled labor shortage manufacturing companies face by demonstrating the innovative work done at the company. The tours are open to the public, and groups of middle and high school students, civic leaders, parents, educators, and the general public are welcome to attend.
There is a common misperception that manufacturing environments are dark, dangerous factories designed for low-skilled workers doing piecework or assembling items on a line. Manufacturing Day addresses this by giving local companies a chance to demonstrate that modern manufacturing is clean, technology forward, and looking for a skilled workforce.
Yushin American was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Cranston. They are the oldest and largest subsidiary of Yushin Precision Equipment Co. of Kyoto, Japan. The company is known worldwide for their expertise in the robotics plastic industry. They specialize in robots that automate factories, offering solutions to assemble, decorate, inspect and package products.
Facility tours require casual dress and closed toe shoes. Space for the Oct. 7 tours is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call Mary Brennan, marketing communication specialist at Yushin America, at 401-490-5904 or visit mfgday.com/events/2016/yushin-america-inc-6/register.
