Dean deTonnancourt of HomeSmart Professionals Real Estate in Warwick has been installed as the 2019 President of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors (RIAR). He assumes his duties for the 5300-member trade association this month.

In addition to chairing numerous committees, deTonnancourt has served as the Treasurer, Vice President, President-Elect and President of the Kent-Washington Association of Realtors (KWAOR) and is a past recipient of the association’s Richard L. Phipps Distinguished Service Award. He was also named KWAOR Realtor of the Year in 2010 and 2014.

No less generous with his time at the state and national levels, his involvement has extended to serving in many capacities within the Rhode Island Association of Realtors. He has served on, as well as chaired, the RIAR Forms and RPAC Committees and he has also served on RIAR’s Nominating and Government Affairs Committees. He has been a director on the board of State-Wide Multiple Listing Service and served as the 2011 and 2012 Federal Political Coordinator to Congressman David Cicciline for the National Association of Realtors.

Also active in his local community, deTonnancourt has served on the West Warwick Board of Assessment and Review for the past 25 years. He is also a long-standing committee member for the Coventry Housing Authority Family Self-Sufficiency Program which works to help the program’s clients transition out of Section 8 housing and into homeownership. He is a past Vice President for AIDS Care Ocean State and was for six years its Development Committee Chair, focusing on events planning for the leading program for AIDS awareness, support and treatment in Rhode Island.

A resident of West Warwick, RI, deTonnancourt is the President and CEO of HomeSmart Professionals Real Estate of Rhode Island, founded in 2014, and comprised of nearly 200 associates, as well as HomeSmart Real Estate Network of Maine, which opened earlier this year.
