The Cranston East boys’ soccer team pushed its undefeated record in Division III to 8-0-1 last week with convincing victories over Scituate and defending D-III champion Davies.

The ’Bolts started their 2-0 week by powering past the Spartans in a 6-2 victory on Tuesday. Scituate netted the first goal of the game early in the first half, but East was undeterred, responding with the next six goals. That run was highlighted by Kerin Murillo, who buried three goals within a span of 25 minutes in the first half and totaling four goals for the game.

David DaSilva was another key component to the offense with a goal and an assist, and Javes Cabrera added the other goal. Gabe Sotelo also chipped in with two assists, while Adnel Lopez and Ayodeji George each posted one assist.

Murillo continued to dominate competition on Friday as East doubled up Davies, 6-3, with Murillo compiling two goals and three assists.

DaSilva also was tough to contain once again in the victory, netting two goals. Angel Lopez and George added some offense as well with a goal apiece, and Sotelo and Richmond Miamen each had an assist.

Leading the way defensively was Gio Canales in net, who made seven saves to earn another win and continue his strong season.

East sits atop the standings in D-III with 25 points, six more than second-place Narragansett (19 points).

The ’Bolts were set to take on Blackstone Valley Prep (1-4-1) on Tuesday, but results were unavailable at press time.
