The Eden Park family continued to help their own student, sixth grader Kelsey Carreiro, who has been fighting cancer throughout the school year, by hosting a school-wide walkathon on Friday, June 1.
"We had 100 percent participation," said Principal Cheryl Anderson.
All of the students walked and a sea of purple T-shirts, bandanas and jewelry handmade by the sixth grade students could be seen throughout the Eden Park neighborhood. Their voices could be heard, chanting, "Eden Park fights back" and "Here we go Kelsey, Here we go," as they walked.
The Carreiro family has three children in Eden Park School, as well as one younger sibling at home.
