The “Garden Of The Month” award was initiated in 2011 by the Edgewood Garden Club to recognize outstanding local gardens and landscaping that enhance the neighborhood. Members’ gardens are not eligible for the honor.

The Club is a member of the Rhode Island Federation of Garden Clubs and is in its 79th year of furthering horticultural appreciation and knowledge for members and the public. With close to 70 members including men and women, it focuses on civic beautification, community outreach and education projects. Ongoing projects include design and maintenance of gardens at the Commercial Street Village Playground, Stillhouse Cove and support for the hydroponic gardening project at E.S. Rhodes elementary school. Visit the club website at www.edgewoodgardenclub.org for more information.
