A team of 15 pre-engineering/robotics students from the Cranston Area Career & Technical Center recently competed in the first Engineering Olympics as part of Manufacturing Week. The students were lead by their teacher, Edd Spidell, who is an electrical and mechanical engineer himself, to win first place in the Autonomous Robot, Engineering Prototype and Design, and Precision Volumetric Measurement contests. In addition, they were awarded first place as the Overall Engineering Team winners. The contest took place at the Rhodes on the Pawtuxet convention site on Sept. 30. (Submitted photo)
