Since 2016, REALTOR Foundation: RI has raised and received funds for a quarterly grant program that provides charitable support to individuals affected by personal or natural disaster and other non-profit organizations which endeavor to do the same. Five thousand dollars is disbursed each quarter and to date eight Rhode Island non-profit organizations have received REALTOR Foundation: RI grants. Deadlines for grants applications are August 15 at 5 p.m. and November 15 at 5 p.m. Information and application forms can be found on realtorfoundationri.org.
The Foundation’s commitment to giving back goes well beyond housing-related initiatives. Through various financial programs, scholarships, and community activities, the organization works to enhance the quality of life within Rhode Island’s communities by organizing volunteers and raising funds for a variety of local charitable organizations and/or individuals in need.
The winners of the Foundation's second quarter grants were Neighbors Helping Neighbors RI and Project Undercover, which each received $2,500 in funding. Other past recipients include Rebuilding Together Greater Newport, Boys & Girls Club of Warwick, RI Center Assisting those in Need, Books Are Wings, Special Olympics Rhode Island and the Jonnycake Center of Peace Dale. Individual donations, which aid worthy causes such as these can be made on realtorfoundation.ri.org. As a corporation operating under form 501 (c)(3) of the tax code, contributions to the REALTOR Foundation: Rhode Island are tax-deductible.
