Gasoline prices in Rhode Island are down one cent this week, according to AAA Northeast.

AAA Northeast’s February 10 survey of prices in Rhode Island finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.49 per gallon. Rhode Island’s price is 6 cents above the national average of $2.43. A year ago at this time, the average price in Rhode Island was 19 cents lower at $2.30 per gallon.

“Crude oil prices are at their cheapest point in a year,” said Lloyd Albert, Senior Vice President of AAA Public and Government Affairs. “That, plus steady gasoline supply levels and low demand have helped to push local average prices lower – seven cents cheaper than three weeks ago.”

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 40 cents, from a low of $2.29 to a high of $2.69. AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area. Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
