Gel Essentialz pinks out for Gloria Gemma

TEAM ESSENTIALZ: The staff at Gel Essentialz held a pink out for beauty to recognize October as breast cancer awareness month and to raise funds for the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation.

Gel Essentialz, located at 931 Reservoir Avenue, held a special beauty fundraiser to benefit the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, organized by Gloria’s granddaughter, Jennie Villella. Villella leads Team Gloria’s Gems for the 5K race, held during the Flames of Hope weekend. For six hours, the staff at Essentialz worked for free, as all proceeds were donated to the Foundation in recognizing October as breast cancer awareness month. A former co-worker was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and owner Gina Sylvestro wanted to host an event at her salon.

The salon offered Pink Beauty for October earlier this month and offered everything from pink manicures, gels, pedicures, pink hair extensions and pink feathers.

In total, more than 60 people turned out to support the cause and $800 was raised.
